Today I was inspired to write a blog, though not Kyle XY related, is something I wanted to share with you all. My grandma(my mom's mom) passed away from abdominal cancer four years ago this month. ( iImay have mentioned this in a previous blog). I miss her so much. Her laugh, her humor, her wiseness, and her hugs. But whenever I get sad I think of my most favorite memories of her. This is one.
I used to live in Maryland, and at night there the sky was so clear because there were no city lights. You could see thousands of stars. Well one summer my Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit. I wanted to show my Grandma the stars. So one night we went out together and I ahowed her all of the constellations I could find. Our favorite was the Big Dipper. We had so much fun. From that moment on, whenever we would write a note to eachother or send a birthday card, after our name we would draw a tiny Big Dipper. That was our thing. A way to show that even though we lived far apart ,(She lived in Ohio) if we both looked up at the sky and saw the Big Dipper it would be like we were together. I still have a letter and a birthday card from her with a little Big Dipper drawn on them. I cherish them. So now whenever I go out outside and I look up and see the Big Dipper shining above me, it is like she is still with me. Still thinking of me and watching over me always. :)
